Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology)


Profile Biography:

Merrin has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and LSVT trained clinician with over 18 years of clinical experience. With experience in acute, inpatient rehabilitation and paediatric settings Merrin has a broad range of experience. Merrin has specific experience and interest in community neuro-rehabilitation with adults with acquired brain injury. She enjoys working with each individual and their family in a person centred way to achieve functional and meaningful goals. Merrin is passionate in supporting people to find meaningful activities in life and developing strong relationships and community involvement. Merrin also has a strong commitment to supporting and developing speech pathology students and early career therapists and provide strong advocacy for the communication difficulties people experience following an Acquired Brain Injury.


Says of her role at Brain Injury SA:

“I enjoy working closely with participants to find meaningful goals and support them live their best life.  As a Speech Pathologist, I am passionate about giving everyone the right to communicate and educating others on how to facilitate effective communication for all. I have a strong interest in the area of acquired language impairment and cognitive communication. I am inspired everyday by the people I work with and the goals they achieve. It is also rewarding to support the university students coming through our organisation to ensure we are building future clinicians with an interest in supporting adults with acquired brain Injuries.”
