About Ryan Strudwicke

Senior Clinical Psychologist

Qualifications and Experience:

Master of Psychology (Clinical)

Profile Biography:

Ryan has been an endorsed clinical psychologist for 8 years, and spent the past 3 years working in brain injury rehabilitation. Prior to this he worked with children, primarily in supporting children to recover from trauma (abuse and neglect). In recent years he has been supporting people to recover from and adjust to injuries, psychological trauma and impairments sustained through motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, falls, assaults, medical episodes including strokes, aneurysms and heart attacks.

Says of his role at Brain Injury SA:

“Trauma, as experienced by many people we see at BISA, often triggers difficulties with post-traumatic stress, hyperarousal and generalised anxiety, depression and hopelessness, irritability and anger, and sleep disturbance. I use evidence-based interventions such as CBT in its various forms (TF-CBT, CBTi etc), ACT and positive psychology interventions such as mindfulness practices to target the specific difficulties and goals of my clients.”
