The Youth, Disability, and LGBTIQA+ Minister’s Advisory Councils were established in
2022 as part of the Government’s commitment to give the Youth, Disability, and
LGBTIQA+ community members a direct voice to government.
Expressions of interest open on 2 December 2024 to join the Minister’s Advisory
Councils for a two-year term from February 2025 to January 2027.
This is a valuable opportunity to share your lived experience and have your say.
Eligibility criteria
- Youth Advisory Council: open to South Australian residents aged 15 to 25.
- Disability Advisory Council: open to South Australian residents aged 15 and
over with disability, care for someone with disability, or have relevant lived
experience. - LGBTIQA+ Advisory Council: open to all LGBTIQA+ South Australian residents
aged 15 and over.
The Minister’s Advisory Councils meet four times a year with the Minister for Human
Services, the Hon. Nat Cook MP, to provide strategic advice on current issues,
legislation and policies to the government.
Council members are compensated for their time and service.
