The Role of Allied Health Assistants at Brain Injury SA (BISA)

Allied Health Assistants (AHA’s) work alongside Allied Health Professionals, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists.

AHA’s implement individualised programs targeting goals identified by the Allied Health Professional and this can be in-clinic, or via Telehealth. Working with an AHA can be cost effective way to extend the therapy funds in NDIS plans but being charged at a lesser rate.

The Allied Health Professional will identify participants who may benefit from an AHA program, periodically reviewing the program and progress as required.

Working as an integral part of the Rewire team at BISA, AHA’s work closely within the interdisciplinary team to assist participants work towards their therapy goals.
