Brain Injury SA hosts students who are studying an Allied Health degree through one of the South Australian based universities. Students are often in their final year of study and have already experienced working with clients in prior placements.
All students are working under the guidance of one of your therapists, as their clinical educator. Having students encourages our clinicians to solidify their knowledge base, stimulates their learning and assists in keeping our therapists up to date with the latest clinician knowledge and treatment approaches.
Many of our participants have the opportunity to work with our students. The benefits of this may include:
- A fresh approach and new ideas
- Cost effective way to increase therapy sessions for goal achievement
- To assist the therapist in research and resource development for a participant
- Group based activities
