Brain Injury SA is committed to providing students with a dynamic learning opportunity. We aim to create an environment in which allied health students can develop, learn and utilise their skills to deliver high quality therapy experiences for both themselves and our participants.
Students work closely with their clinical educator to provide therapy services to a range of adult participants with acquired brain injuries or neurological impairments. As a student you will also be a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, working with our Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Allied Health Assistants and Dietitian.
Your placement may involve:
- One to one sessions in the office, home or community
- Group therapy
- Project work
- Developing resources and social media content
- Participating in research
- Attending inservices, meetings and workshops
- Providing support and information to other team members/disciplines
- Involved in Brain Injury SA events
- Liaising with external stakeholders
Prior to your placement your clinical educator will send you a letter informing you of your time, dates, location of your placement and some general information. During your first week of placement you will complete an orientation module.
All students must complete the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You” and present the certificate of completion on your first day. Please see the link below to access:
