express Reconnect Transition Program: Mt Gambier
June 10, 2022 @ 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
The express Reconnect Transition Program (eRTP) is a free program for people in regional South Australia living with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
The eRTP provides 2.5 hour group sessions in various regional locations. On Friday, 10th June, the eRTP is coming to Mt Gambier.
The eRTP is facilitated by a psychologist who specialises in supporting people living with brain injury. This group provides people with the opportunity to connect with others with lived experience of brain injury in a supportive and relaxed group environment.
The group sessions are about sharing and exploring experiences and an excellent opportunity to learn more about the brain and how to optimise recovery.
The eRTP covers: Learning more about the brain and neuroplasticity, Exploring the challenges of brain injury and strategies that may help with recovery, Mental health, wellbeing and hopes for the future.
The session also draws on the experience of peer mentor, Holly Scott, offering insight from her own journey and recovery. Holly is the first SA Police Road Safety Ambassador and has been nominated for Young Australian of the Year. You can watch Holly’s seven part documentary series, ‘Driven’ on YouTube.
