Supporting Carers and Families
Thanks to the generous support of Lifetime Support Authority, we’ve been able to deliver the mental health and resilience development program, Be Well, to our carers, and to further research more broadly what support programs for carers are best suited to their needs and how they should be made available.
Families are not able to access funding to support their health and wellbeing when taking care of a family member with a disability. That is why the BISA Foundation has highlighted this area for funding. Our goal is to not only roll out the current Be Well program for another year but to also implement the outcomes of our carers survey.
Our plans for supporting carers in 2025 include:
- The addition of two Be Well Master Classes per year – an extension of the existing Be Well for Carers program, available to those that have completed this first.
- The creation of a monthly brain injury support and education group specifically for carers.
- Creation of an online support group for carers.
- One social event per Brain Injury SA hub (3 events in total), assisting carers to connect with each other.
Please support us in reaching our goal to raise $45,000 to fund the development and delivery of these programs to provide much needed support to help our families.
