BIAW Lunch & Learn Series – What is the National Assistance Card?
August 22, 2023 @ 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm
FreeJoin us online via Teams during Brain Injury Awareness Week for our Lunch & Learn Series
Learn about the National Assistance Card and how it can be used to support a person with a brain injury in the community.
Hosted by Brain Injury SA. Presented by National Assistance Card.
The National Assistance Card is a personalised Card to assist people with disability and health conditions in the community.
The Card is designed to be used in everyday and emergency situations to help cardholders communicate discreetly their unique areas of difficulty and the assistance they may need.
The Card can: give cardholders greater independence and assist them to feel more confident in everyday situations; provide peace of mind for families and carers; enhance community understanding of disability and health conditions; and support positive community interaction with cardholders.
The National Assistance Card is available to all people in Australia living with brain injury.
Come along to the Lunch and Learn information session to hear from National Assistance Card Project Officer Malachi Cloak De Paul and to find out more about: what the Card is; the benefits of the Card; how to apply for a Card – for yourself, a family member or client; and how to respond when shown a Card.
We will also share testimonials from cardholders themselves how this initiative has helped to provide discreet and successful support.
